An emancipation of the blues

An emancipation of the blues

A Poem by Kelly Scheppers

An emancipation of the blues

 …the bass reverberates

an emancipation of the blues…

instantaneously,

pulsations of rhythm

surge through me…

precipitating a centrifugal force

of inebriated highs.

Your pic is of Jimi, but I was/am an Eric Clapton aficionada myself! Your use of the word "emancipation" is the strongest aspect of this poem. It's amazing how listening to the blues (which I do before hatching a poem) makes me feel so free to express myself, I could just peel down to nothing (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Wherever would we be without it? Thank you dear Poppy!
dear Kelly... "knowledge speaks... wisdom listens"... I was raised in a fanatical religion... that sheltered us from the real world... so I am a late bloomer. I appreciate your insight and sharing... never to late to appreciate the real world. truly, Pat
