Old age had taught me. Should of loved more and drank less.
"To plead, to pray
to never again
love this way."
Few times in a lifetime we find place where are free and untamed. Thank you Kelly for sharing the amazing poetry.

May be it's the cycle of life..Luckily, not the "unending" one as long as the hope remains in this world.
Love like this.........I wish all of us could come out of it, stronger:)

I think we do, eventually. Thank you for your review!
This is a beautiful poem. I feel the emotions coming from each word. The way you write draws the perfect picture. I have felt this love before and would not wish it on anyone. Great job with this poem.
who makes up these rules about "love", what it is and what it should be all about???? why should love be possessive, obsessive, or the end all and be all of our lives???? "love" as defined by todays standards is messed up, from 50 shades of grey and women playing the role of making men "better" (where the hell did this come from) to the poison of "if I can't have her no one else can"... wtf is this?? or the morals of presidential turds "I just wanna grab her by the pssy" or "I stand by my man"...
if there isn't tenderness and respect, mutual understanding openness, and wanting to share separate lives based on equality, it isn't love folks and as J Gills said, "it stinks"... we should never have to beg and plead for someone to love us or to appreciate us...
kinda got carried away here Kelly, but his is were my mind went as I read your words... hope you find or have found love that is satisfying and fulfilling....
this i relate to all too well...the first divorce...i was devastated...had nothing else in my life and lived only for that relationship---but vowed never again...and there has never been again...that i have put all my marbles on a relationship...have to depend on me to matter, not love.
An old and famous poem states, "Better to have loved and lost than never to have loved..." But that's just one poet's opinion. The loss of a love can cause more intense mourning than the loss of a loved one's life. You so eloquently remind us all of that here. Beautifully and artfully stated, Kelly...so well done. take care...dan

WOW this really hurts in ways I just can not explain to hurt and love and not be loved need more then a few prayers to get over this as It says To anguish TO Grieve To abandon all hope for sorrow to plead to pray to neve again love this way. a very power poem Kelly.
Delicious image babe! I couldn't agree more... Sigh..,been there and had my romantic goggles on the whole time while I lost myself in the madness, for a time it's a kind of addiction well it was for me anyway.
You've captured the feeling so well. Divine piece. R xo

It's so easy to lose oneself in the madness. So true, Rach! Thank you!
This is the reason why I have embraced the single life and will give all my love to my new four legged companion, George. Great piece that anyone who has ever loved and lost can relate to.
