Old age had taught me. Should of loved more and drank less.
"To plead, to pray
to never again
love this way."
Few times in a lifetime we find place where are free and untamed. Thank you Kelly for sharing the amazing poetry.

You always do it, render me emotional lol Love, the most beautiful and intoxicating emotion to feel and yet equally the most painful at times...and yet we do love again, such cycles are human nature, stunning hon :)
Nice little piece here... Made me think.
Even when it hurts... Over and over again.. life brings love into our lives and gives us a chance to really feel..
And through the loss and wisdom of experience, shows us that we can indeed heal --The tougher the heart, the harder it is to break. ..It also makes it harder for others to penetrate. ..allowing love to earn its way into your soul-- So may we love this way ...more than once. (May we all find that we love ourselves even half as much ) .. .
Cheers :)- Rev
I hate this message, even tho it's well-expressed here. I hate hearing young ladies write about love that sounds a lot like this, as if love is something that almost always hurts or causes distress. But in your poem, I realize you are not glorifying this type of love, but instead, showing determination to stop engaging in self-degradation & thinking this is love. I get that this is a denouncement & I'm glad of it. I get so tired of love poems that glorify this in the name of love. Your description of this constant suffering is so apt, so well-detailed, it makes me hurt for those who mistake this as being what love feels like.

Every love is different....but only one can be THAT one. The one we measure all other loves against. The one making our hearts skip a beat even as we remember. Powerfully emotional. I enjoyed the rhyming, Kelly. Lydi**
