Autumn's Passage

A Poem by Kelly Scheppers

Autumn’s Passage

The leaves of fall will soon descend

my love will call

the willow, bend.

Gee
To listen, as we reminisce,
in loves embrace,
of passed life we'll miss.

Like this very much Kelly, a reflective piece tinged with sadness....to me it seems

I'm most proud of the impression my poetry leaves my reader - thank you!
Passage. I have always thought of Autumn as the definitive "bridge" between two seasons. Yes, I know any change of seasons can be a "bridge," but for me , the only bridge is the Autumn season. This wee write is replete with the coming changes, giving "notice," if you will, that change is literally in the air. The brilliant brevity here creates a colorful emotional canvass that a thousand adjectives could never match.

It is a wee write, isn't it? But the weight of your words make it seem majestic to me! Ty!

You can sure pack a wallop of emotion into so few words. I adore Autumn and your well-crafted sentiment.

So many of us poets love Autumn...isn't that wonderful? Thank you!
Your thoughts haunt like the mists of an autumn dawn. So beautifully rich, and filled with burning hope. xo

It is always a thrill to see you - thank you for the smile!
Such a beautifully written poem that speaks volumes with so few words. Autumn has such remarkable beauty yet my heart belongs to the newness of Spring :)

Kelly, autumn is by far my favorite season. I have had three LONG term relationships in my life and all three began in the fall. Sadly the first two also ended amongst the season of falling leaves...that sadness though tempered by my 24 years with Dee.
This piece seems to be the narrator wistfully hoping to find such love amongst such a dream-sequence time frame also. Here's hoping that it can be found amidst the change of colors...the rustling wind summoned to blow her hopes toward the answer. take care...dan

I appreciate you taking the time to review this, Dan. Please know you're in my prayers!
To me this is very romantic as it reminds me of meeting forbidden love in the woods, hidden by the bending willows. Autumn is my favorite time of year and it inspires the best poetry, lovely colorful gems to reflect upon, like this one! Lovely work, Kelly.

Thank you, Lisa...I just knew you would!
A graceful energy rests here, the anticipation of a graceful season...the ebbs and flows of seasonal exhalations...beautiful :)

I agree...there is a lesson within the seasonal shift, if the trees can let go, perhaps we can do so.. read more
while leaves in Autumn's colors fold
and Willow's arms may further bend,
love found now will never end
and forever in songs be told....

seems like Jacob started a trend of poetic replies to your lovely poem Kelly (at least for us guys) and I too am affected by Autumn and of course by the feel of you poem...
