A Poem by Kelly Scheppers

Time

Our youth is the wind

summering through the willow.

We are the seeds the dandelion blows.

The very breath of God is within our nostrils

beseeching us to embrace

       …time.

Kelly, Wow! So much to say about a brief write. First of all, the graphic accompanying the piece is SO strong. The tree, progressing through time, symbolizes time's advancing steps...the tree grows with the silhouette people's chronological steps.
The write so lyrically advances the time traveling through life's journey, so delicately while powerfully speaking to our own journey. I really don't have the proper words...just wonderful! take care...dan

It makes my day just having you here, Dan. The proper words were wonderfully spoken! Bless you!
My "cop out" review is this, upon reading this gem, a book title from one of my favorite authors (Robert Heinlein) immediately came to mind, and perfectly sums up my emotions. "Time Enough for Love."

We should embrace each and every second but until illness, tragedy strike, we, all of us, think we are immortal. The pictures are striking and perfectly capture life's passing, and what's not to like about your writing Kelly. Top marks m'dear, top marks.

Good to see you, Willard...thank you!
This is lovely. As we age, hopefully we get wiser, and more appreciative of the time we have.

Thank you, Gene!
Time....ole time our greatest enemy....how clever you are to embrace it....I just want to shove it down to the corner of the bed...bury it in the covers, like a missing sock:)

I love your perspective...I'm always missing socks! Lol, thank you, girl!
Kelly, your choice of artwork is the perfect compliment to your words. A better definition of the arbitrary nature of life's plan is hard to fathom. 'We are the seeds the dandelion blows.' Good write.

Thank you, Ted. I was pretty excited when I came across this!
I love the imagery followed by your powerful words. Adds a beautiful aura!
Great things come in few words and your poem stands as beautiful proof to that!
I love how you tied the beginning to the end like the shell of "time" enclosing the soft sentiments of youth! Look forward to more of your amazing work :)
