Superman

A Poem by Kelly Scheppers

Superman

The father of my child

you are,

the hand to the small

of my back

the smile

that makes me feel

seventeen again,

whenever the merlot

goes to my head

The yin to my yang

you are,

taking me to

exhilarating highs…

making me feel

seventeen again.

Gee
Really like this, it ain't dressed up, put over with flowery words, it's good ol' fashioned, straight forward truth. I could apply the " man " version of this to my wife.

I am thrilled you enjoyed it, really! Thank you so much for your review!
Sweet and brief. Like that bottle of Merlot, this poem went down nice and easy and had my head in a pleasant haze.

I love that feeling, the hand on the small of the back. Such a simple, yet meaningful thing.

You're welcome Kelly!
I do beleive that the words... "you are,/the hand to the small/of my back" cold be the highest compliment a woman could ever pay a man. As usual you use only a few words here, to paint a picture of a "super" man. Well done Kelly!

You are always the queen of seduction and I am yet again jealous at the beauty that falls to the paper from your mind. I love the presence that your simple precise thoughts emit. The way it makes me hold my breath, while I read each line. You are amazing once again!
