Perfect Tens

Perfect Tens

A Poem by Kelly Scheppers

...a little nod to the Olympics

Perfect Tens

Perfect Ten

The lake is picturesque,
loveliest this time of year

thawed from winters discontent,
metamorphosed into
a Norman Rockwell canvas,

as an assemblage of mallards

and long neck geese,  navigate
through placid sun kissed waters

executing perfect tens
in aquatic synchronization.

It feels as though you were flying with them as you wrote this piece. Your in league with Rockwell, he's one of my favorites.

Love,
Al

I must puke, it's such a marvelous & very deep creativeness of yous that you leave in a few piercing words seemed, you got a craze of Olympics. sounds intriguing, though. nicely written.

It means so much, coming from you! Thank you, Lydi!!
Beautifully written evoking images that are both soothing and picturesque. You have created your own painting using your words. This is also a wonderful tribute to the Olympics. I give this poem a ten!!

I appreciate that, Dara...thank you!
beautiful! when the geese fly it is so wondrous for me ..their calling and liquid formations searching for "V" .. i think the games need such tributes ...in the face of body parts washing up on the beaches, green turned swimming pools and robberies and on and on .. for the life of me i don't know where the heads of those on the "Committee" were in making such a choice .. but the athletes shine through don't they .. with colors of mallards and grace of the geese ;) i have been watching the fencing, boxing, rugbe and bits of soccer.... bringing Norman into the mix is smartly done says i ..it has such instant connotations that add to your poems images and emotions
enjoyed the read Kelly Legs ;)
