i think we can look to nature for the first syncronized performances.
and Autumn is the time of year that we look to the sky to see the migrating birds, all in syncronized flight.
dear Kelly, mallards and long-necked geese
grace the Rappahannock River that runs through
Fredericksburg, Virginia. We are mesmerized by
their quiet meditation as they glide along with the
current ... peaceful and restful... as is your poetry.

Kelly,
When still a boy, I spent a summer on my Uncle Button's farm in south Georgia, and there in a glen between two sloping hills lay a placid lake with a small island in the middle where tame ducks and geese lived year 'round. With my Big Chief writing tablet and #2 pencil, I'd sit beneath the big willow and write poetry … where, in moments of pause, I'd watch the ducks and geese swim together in perfect unison. I can recall marveling at their precision as they followed one another along the bank, and how every now and again (as on cue) they'd all dip down at the same time (looking for a fish?).
You've truly painted a Norman Rockwell moment, Kelly, complete with a perfect "10" in imagery, emotion, and enthrallment … and, your picture inspired the sweet sensation of quiet peace I so enjoy.
I have not thought of that place for many years, until the imagery of your beautifully-rendered poetry in Free Verse returned me there, so this piece is very relatable for me, and heart-touching, too, in the way only you know how to do … big smiles 'n hugs of warmest thanks to you, Our Lovely Lady-Poet! ⁓ Richard : )

He served as a chief petty officer in the navy and really took to "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald". I remember a song, "I'm Not Supposed To Care"...his voice just reverberated through you whatever it was he was singing. Thank you!
You have struck gold once again, dear poet. You created a visual cornucopia of nature in its most simple and pristine form. Sure, we see birds take flight many times, but most times it is just with our eyes that we see it; with this poem you make us see it with our hearts.

I have always wonder about 10....people think its a perfect number...but it ends in 0 and if added.. its sum is only 1. I love the poem! The view from my window to yours is breathtaking! However, I think 8is a better description.

Thank you, Queenie...it's the thought that counts!
So beautifully sacred, your words come alive with the life and mystery of the world. May we always seek our peace in the rivers and lakes, in the birds, and the sun's kisses. This is where our soul's belong. xo
