James Dean

James Dean

A Poem by Kelly Scheppers
"

...a birthday tribute

"

James Dean

“…along came a spyder and picked up a rider

and took him down the road to eternity.”

James Dean

what a dream...

white tee shirt

faded jeans.

An angry young man

excess extreme,

living life upon the screen...

without a cause

a rebel, it seems…

James Dean

Some are meant for a long life in the spotlight,
others are a bright flash bang in the eyes of their fans.

To say he died too young
is only imagining that he may have had more to do on this earth.

I greatly enjoyed this tribute poem to the man.

So, so true, Cory. Perhaps we always will.
I have always had a soft spot for the rebellious type and James Dean personifies this to a "t" :-) A wonderful tribute to an unforgettable actor.

Thank you, Andrew. It means a lot to me that you enjoyed it!
some of us who threw ourselves against the wind were harvested early, an exploding star that still sheds though long gone...others have had at least the opportunity to see the whole show

...such a lovely thought, Ed. Thank you!
oh my! so many worked to be his brand of cool .... spent hours try to get slick back and "flip" just right ... it wasn't easy ;) we can not help but wonder what would have been accomplished by James and all those who die way too young ... even in the womb that same "potential" exists ... its an undeniable unanswered question eh!? Happy Birthday James Dean! thank you for posting this remembrance .... from such a beautiful lady's point of view ;)

Writing about an American icon must have been fun. You know, I have never seen any of his films, but I've heard so many songs profiling Dean, categorizing him as not just a star but a brand. A quote from one of his movies is one of my favorites: "Dream as if you'll live forever, live as if you'll die today."
A really great piece, Kelly. take care...dan
