I took a quote from this poem and titled it, “In the Quiet”, which I posted in March of last year. And on another note, one of my favorite poets, Rod McKuen, titled a book of poetry by the very same title...just in case you took notice!

I love the thoughts Kelly. Nothing is more peaceful than a rainy... it has that calming effect that allows us to relax our mind and find that place of comfort. Amazing work :)

but you can go to Paris in your mind, and your pen can write about that journey, and you can take us with you...we will buy tickets if you write it.

The warm........the picture sets up the image and the quiet feeling for me. It's the kind of quiet that invites you to daydream and bathe in it. Images of rainy windows always do something for me. Just reading this, I feel like we've just talked in that quiet warm.
Great poem Kelly.

I seem to gravitate to cooler temps and less than perfect weather conditions. Rainy windows do something for me, too...I remember writing on the glass as a child, one of very few memories I have of my childhood. I am much obliged for your time and kindness, Tim...thank you!
Beautifully captured Kelly. I love the title, which is a bit spooky for me because I was taught as a kid to think of warm colours like red when you are cold,, which in Scotland, is any time you are outside. But the spooky thing was, it was extremely cold today and I thought of that for the first time in I don't know how long. It does kinda work too btw. :)
The ending is superb. Lonely for places I'll never go. Never say never Kelly. Great job.

Kudos for spelling Scheneta,, whatever,, lol,, I like the softness of the images. i can feel the sunlight flowing softly through the window, the sheers wafting gently in the breeze, the kitty laying beside me in the window bench, purring gently, really nice poem,, and I love the pic too!!

I think my cats are upset with me...I used stand-ins! Good to see you, Dan, thanks so much!
Good thoughts and hope in your words.

I need a trip to the California coastline or the October festival in Germany. I hope to read your book one day. Thank you dear Kelly for sharing the excellent poetry.
