I took a quote from this poem and titled it, “In the Quiet”, which I posted in March of last year. And on another note, one of my favorite poets, Rod McKuen, titled a book of poetry by the very same title...just in case you took notice!

Dear Kelly,
I did take notice of your title, as Rod McKuen is among my all-time favorite poets (along with You, of course), whom I first read in the mid-60s, with his first book "Stanyon Street and Other Sorrows" (which I still have a 1st edition copy), and I was gifted to follow him until his death, early this year.
One of my most favorite of his poems/songs is "The World I Used to Know", recorded by many, but sung beautifully here by Johnny Mathis: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UFI9Ddi6k1U (which I think [hope] you will enjoy).
By virtue of your wonderfully chosen and arranged words, you softly touch and take me to a place I often go and, thus, so deeply relate to and quietly understand your own.
Paris is so far away, another world, really, but Schenectady rouses imaginative questions, making me wonder warm "Ifs". ; )
Thank you, dear, sweet Lady-Poet, for sharing the ever-stirring, always mysterious and enthralling "warmth" of You, through the mastery of your brilliant Free Versing! ⁓ Richard

I haven't listened to it yet, but I'll let you know!
Surely, one day you'll be an author of many successful books for sure & your parents'd be sending you kisses off the pleasant heaven ... as they are still sending you to you ways. Loved the simplistic taste of such poetry .. you make your comfortable enough to get bashed up! Seemed, the winter's 'bout to come, rain was erupting down off the eyes of skies; coldness was kissing the warmth of your dulcet feet & the winds were, as usual, touching the gleam of your very face when your hands hanged out with the ink of your pen & the tip well danced ov'r the pages... undisguised with such majestically pleasant words. Great job! May you get published very soon! ;)

All I need is that green stuff. I'm hoping within the next year, or so...thank you, Adams!

Everyone yearns for the feeling of warmth. I feel that this cute little poem captures the essence of that entirely. Great read. Will definitely have to save this one for a rainy day. 100/100.
I think I would title your book: "Listen to the Warm"
I love this whole poem
and I never tell people how to write, (God knows I am no expert)
But the last line.... I might have swapped the towns.....
"Whenever I find myself
caught in the quiet of a rain soaked day,
lonely for places I’ll never go......
…like Paris....... or Schenectady"
the picture is also perfect.

I imagine that the warm is a safe place you can go to in your mind. Where you keep memories and hopes. I like how you connect it to you're being a daughter and your confirmation that you will write a book. It seems to me good things happen in the warm.
Very nice piece of writing.

Such a comforting analogy, Philip. Thank you so much for your kind words!
