I may never write an American novel,
or win a Pulitzer prize.
I may never see Paris in the spring
or smell sweetly
the golden Iowa wheat. But l shall love you…
And that is as clear to me as the Colorado mountains.
It is as pure to me as a Minnesota snow
and the perpetual rains that fall
in Seattle. And while you are near
with the brilliance of a million stars in the sky
l will hold you,
longer than the Pacific is deep.
I will treasure you more than any jewel,
and remain yours
far beyond the pyramids of time.
And l will love you.
That is as clear to me as the Colorado mountains.
As pure to me as a Minnesota snow.
The object of your affection must be truly blessed to have you in his life. You live and breathe passion and it is reflected in your poetry like sunlight on still water. Simply beautiful Kelly!
