This Day of Golden Summer

This Day of Golden Summer

A Poem by Kelly Scheppers

This Day of Golden Summer

I pray to God

to relinquish me

to die within your arms.

To bleed out

this inexorable pain

of having to leave you,

upon this day

of golden summer.

Good to see you, dear Robert! Thank you!
you conveyed his desire to end his suffering in such succinct words and phrases and the bittersweet need to live out his final hours in the arms of the one he loved, is definitely felt here. very emotional and strong write. Thank you for sharing
