Languid Sips of October

I envelop what remains of your memory,

couching my discontent

within the facsimile of a smile…

as a plethora of days

transition themselves

into languid sips of October.

Heartfelt reminiscing. The years pass and actually make the love seem sweeter in retrospect. Bittersweet loveliness, Kelly. Lydi**

As am I, Kelly. People who share history are important.
Beautifully but gently sad as you embrace the tale of love's loss and the traces left behind that still excoriate the heart Kelly.

My dear John, thank you so much!
Summer has only just begun, but it's already over in this poem of love lost. I agree with other comments: "into languid sips of October" is a memorable line for sure.

So kind a review, Roland. Thank you for the light you bring!
Such poetic force Kelly. Shakespeare would be kicking himself that he didn't write this. A brilliant punchy piece!!

Your generosity is much appreciated, Andrew...thank you!
the feeling of discontent is strong here but within the beauty of the words the whole poem becomes pure genius, I love how you slide your writing so softly into my mind Kelly, it just drifts around my head in those languid sips, beautiful as always :)

Dear Kelly, your poetic prowess never ceases to amaze me as you continue to harvest such wonderful fruit from an eternal and gracious, fertile muse... i can visualize those thoughts, curled up on a couch in the mind, wearing some semblance of a smile as they are completely consumed by the passing minutes... an outstanding reflective piece... love facsimile, plethora and languid; great word choice... simply beautiful work :D

I initially thought it was spelled the same, but it's not. Thank you so much for the compliment!
