Languid Sips of October

I envelop what remains of your memory,

couching my discontent

within the facsimile of a smile…

as a plethora of days

transition themselves

into languid sips of October.

October is far away, sipping tea within my memory of longing.. only if i could stretch my hand far enough to draw the curtain so your vision would dissipate in thin air.. maybe then, I can breath in gulps not in sips.
LOVED it gorgeous!!

...thank you, darlin! Hope your 4th was fabulous!
Melodic and fascinating, you come to the poem with the vocabulary of a wise angel, a lover that was born upon the Tree of Life as you dance your way into my heart, my soul, into the very breath of being.

Love You More,
Al

Thank you so much, Rudi!
There's something about the last months of the year.. maybe the looking back on warmth and longer days, and hours filled with all kinds of magic that remains, melted into the spirit, the heart, the everything. You write with exquisite gentleness and longing from start to finish. And somehow, sadly - tho quite beautifully, lingering tears create an aura around your memories..

The graphic is a perfect accompaniment.. tis so well chosen.

Memories, you can recount them whenever you wish and may the smile be upon you when you do. Lovely piece or words arranged.

October has long been my favorite month. So many milestones in my life, some bad but mostly good, have occurred in October. As the many days of rainy summer (here) fill the glass of life (to be sipped languidly in October) I will be looking forward to the month of madness, with bells on. take care...dan

I lost my Dad in October, so the title truly resonates with me. Thank you, Dan. Hope you had a hap.. read more
Quite the wordsmith....and yet it just seems so natural as if the images appeared to you and all you did was write them down.

October is a great month for reminiscing ...the year coming to a close....the beach front naked...the winds a bit chilly .....the waves rushing and crashing like the memories...while the glass of wine lends us something to hold our shaky hands and thoughts to. The smoothness of the port to relax the lump in the throat that brings out the leaky tears that fall one at a time....yesterday going into the card box, sometimes sprinkled with regret. Your writing always transports me...it leaves me feeling.....well just FEELING....that is always a good reminder....that its real.
