Georgia Summers

Georgia Summers

A Poem by Kelly Scheppers

Georgia Summers

Georgia summers

were as piquant as

a mint julep in July.

Languid days of skinny-dipping,

where temperatures were as high as

the traversing of hands

 underneath a skirt

of fettered gauze.

Just enough to make me peek. My fingers pawing all the sensuality into my loins. Whoa!

A beautiful poem. I was station in Georgia for three years. Hot days make us relax and try to stay cool. Nice photo came alive because of the amazing description dear Kelly. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

"GULP!"

OOooo-la-la, Kelly!
Once again you treat us to something so vividly imaginative, it changes the dynamic of my day, and all it takes is one of your scintillatingly-spicy pieces that surges warm, manly blood though all the right places … in fact, after those last 4-lines, I'm feeling a bit of need for an icy mint julep this very moment … ohhh-MY!

Love-love-love that photo! Sooo grateful to you for the lovely, sweet treat of your wondrous skills, Kelly — I'm afraid to hug you, I might explode … wink* ⁓ Richard

I do believe I could wrap this review around me like a hug, Richard! Thank you so much!
"Fettered gauze"....what a great description of what happens to gauze when it gets wet. It clings and sticks to the skin! Your words are so sensual. Not sure you ever spent a summer in Georgia, but it certainly seems as if you did. I think I need a cool Mint Julep now! :) Lydi**

Those were the good 'ol days and your nostalgic write, tempered with beautiful sensuality, takes me back to a time when life seemed carefree and serene. Wonderfully written, dear Kelly.

a wonderful thought, Nisreenaa...thank you most kindly!
I had to google mint julep - thinking it was a flower and that made all the pennies drop.
Sumptuous and decadent Julie - a completely mesmerising portrait of an idyllic scene.
Thanks for the sojourn. :)
