...she had dreams of picket fences,
that gallantry and chivalry were alive and well
and living within close proximity
of Wilshire Boulevard.
And she believed that one day
her prince would come...
...this is a quote from a poem I wrote for Marilyn. I make a concentrated effort to remember her on her birthday and the fifth of August. If you were able to catch the documentary on her life on "Lifetime" last night, please let me know what you thought!

So beautiful in the inside and the out … what a blessing she was for the entire world, if she had only had caring people around her to help her learn and protect her from all those who used her-up.
Such a soft and caring soul, and "Yes, how lovely it would be to have been Norma Jean's friend, without all the rest."
You know, Kelly, I always thought it was too bad how the publicity hounds played such a controlling roll in ending her's and Joe's marriage … it saddened her so when it ended … she loved him truly, I think.
Thank you so very much again for sharing wonderful You with Us … happiest hugs! ~ Richard

That he ordered roses to be delivered to her crypt 3 times a week for twenty something years, pretty much confesses the love he had for her. Men wanted her, and women wanted to be her friend. I think she would be in awe to see how her memory has endured through the years - how the fascination has never died. I am absolutely thrilled you enjoyed this...thank you!

Belated Birthday greetings Marilyn. Thank you for Misfits, Bus Stop, Niagara and many others. As Elton John said "your candle burned out early"". My regards to the beautiful writer of these prose. Thank you Kelly!
Love,

She starts screaming against his actions to wrangle them and sell them for profit, wanting the horses to run free. It was like Norma Jean emerging and rebelling against all of Hollywood. Ironically, it was her last finished movie, prior to her filming the one before she died, "Something's Got to Give". I believe that single scene captures the essence of who she really was. I'm glad you enjoyed this, Alfred! Thank you!

I get the same feeling whenever I visit a zoo or see animals kept.
A beautiful tribute to an amazing woman. I've always loved Marilyn. After watching the documentary last weekend, I fell in love with her all over again... she was so witty, so engaging - to quote Marilyn, "It takes a smart brunette to play a dumb blonde"

OMG, I set my DVR a week in advance, so not to miss watching it. Then, when it came on, I couldn't resist to see who was portraying her. I believe the actress did a wonderful job. There were certain times when the camera captured her, it looked just like Marilyn standing there. My heart broke to see the pain she endured. It was indeed like falling in love with her all over again. I just wish I didn't know how it would end! Much love and many thanks, Julie!

Not only did she look like her, but her mannerisms were identical...Marilyn truly was one of a kind. She kept her sense of humor in front of the camera even though she was in so much pain...talk about bravery..wow.
