In the Gloaming

I wait by the window

for your return,

like wilting flowers awaiting sunlight…

in the gloaming.

wow... simply, wow... great simile, Kelly, to describe such waiting... this really hits home because my dad fished long hours, and oft' times my mother would pace the floor and wait by the window for his return... love, love, love it!

Thank you for the warmth you give, Richard!
I dare not reply too readily to this. It is a lovely piece and I agree the use of gloaming is such a scene setter Kelly.

Kelly, Gloaming? A GREAT word! Had you chosen the word twilight instead it would not have conveyed anywhere near the same emotional jolt. My hat's off to you, outstanding! take care...dan

You say a lot in this piece with very few words Kelly. But what you say in those words expressed so much.
