had a hard time finding one i did not read yet :) love the title and the succinct story of love ...maybe she waits for a sailor gone once more to sea ... maybe someone who never returns .. just the word "gloaming" brings such a complex array of feeling to mind .. nice one Kelly!

Visiting old poetry is like old friends, and this is one friend I'm glad you met! x
Deserving of all those 35 comments and opinions left by each of my reviewing predecessors I am sure. I am also confident there shall yet be many more. Cheers Kelly

...that's quite a high for me, indeed! ...thank you, Neville!
What's the point of pretending any longer, Kelly, I know I'll never find a poem of yours I don't like.
Take the entirety of this piece, for instance: One can see the softening of sunlight as it just beginning to be filtered by the horizon before early twilight, the once vibrant flowers, now fading and drooping from lack of care and attention, wondering when (if ever) someone will come along and spritz a bit of refreshing water on its blossoms and give their stems a nourishing drink. Then, the font, its hot, withering color matched by the sad, retreating blooms, and it is quite impossible that one can fail to feel the moment's emotion, hopes, the writer's longing thirst to be quenched by their lover's return.
I am welling-up, Kelly … it feels so very poignantly real! ⁓ Richard

Hahah, I've been away for awhile -- but I just had to get something out so I'm back. :D
I learned a new word after reading this, so yay! haha.
Dusk is my fave part of the time [followed by the late hours of the night lol], so I like this poem even more for that reason. A Lovely write that's full of longing.
