I wrote this in 2002 for my three cats... Jessie, Milo & Elliott. Jessie & Milo have since died. Jessie, from the ripe old age of 19, and Milo from a respiratory infection. This is my tabby, Elliott, who will be 17 years old next month! { He has two other partners now...Willow & Izzy.} I love my cats...they are like children to me, a part of my family!

I notice You are quit the photographer from your camera photo on another site we both are members of. This is very cute I love your used of photography,
Anyone who so loves cats cannot be all bad … not that You, Dear Kelly, are any bad. : )
The names you blessed your darling felines with, I love.
Mine are a black and white angora female, Bingo, a pure white shorthair female, with one brown and one blue eye, Lily, and a huge black medium-hair tom, Pepper. They're all around 12-years-old, and live solely outside (by choice) … they won't even step indoors … cat independence i am sure you are familiar with, eh?
When they die, it hurts like hell, as they live on in the heart and mind, having become a viable and intricate part of us.
I love how you've portrayed Elliot, his comfort and indifference to the world, and your hard work … LOL!
You're a lovely person, Kelly, thank you for sharing You … hugs! ~ Richard

Animals give great insight to a person's character. They take a lot of commitment, love and nurturing...just like a child. Bingo, Lily and Pepper...I shall remember their names, fondly with your's!
My sister always has two children, currently Bear and Julius. My parents adopted a stray cat, but that one is scared of the vacuum cleaner and runs away whenever she hears it. Your poem has a tanka quality about it; in fact, I think I can do it for you:
Oblivious to a Just Vacuumed Room
morning sun peers through
an east window perfectly
curling tabby cat
upon futon chair he sleeps
twitching whiskers, twitching feet

Aahh, what a lovely tribute to your cat!♥ I think cats are pretty much oblivious to whatever they choose to ignore, and what they don't ignore they seriously investigate. What a life, I wish I could do that and have someone vacuum my carpets!! ;o)

Wherever would we be without the love of our four-legged friends? Thank you, my dear E!
Can't say I'm a cat lover but this one looks cute, and I liked your tribute to your pets...I have a dog called Milo and he's a real little character.

My heart just did a somersault...two times over! Thank you, my dear friend!
Ahh, blissful and contented, sooo cute :) Gave me a sunny smile for a rainy day here...as I type this, my cat has curled on the sofa and oblivious to anything but a warm seat lol Cats are more than cats, animals more than animals, they are our companions and babies ;) I so understand that...all of mine have my heart wrapped around their tiny paws lol ♥

There's nothing like the heart of an animal lover...thank you, Poppy! x
This one really resonated with me, as a relatively new cat "parent". My son recently moved back in with me, and along with him, came his adopted cat, Beck. I fell almost instantly in love.....
I sometimes watch Beck as he naps in the sunlight, and this piece captures that so wonderfully.
Nice write.
