Song of the Nightingale

A Poem by Kelly Scheppers

Song of the Nightingale

Leaving me in spring…

what then will the nightingale sing

with wings outstretched?

Loneliness and stress go hand in hand I don't mix the two I try to separate and work some joy in my life do something I like than be lonely and miserable Take the camera and go out for a morning shoot see if the birds and butterflies want to compete for your time.

Ahhh, Kelly Dearest,
Always, leaving is the saddest song one can hear sung in the heart and ear, whether by the beautiful Nightingale or a glorious lover departing.
Your ability to express emotion is rivaled by none, nor to present your original poetical creations … the illustration, the font, the hue of color are each and all impeccable.
The exhilarating emotion of your vivid imagery is tangibly ~ manifestly real … redundant I know, but I really don't own enough grammatical attributes.

How much I dearly love this piece from your mind, heart, and soul, Dear Kelly, my humble words cannot adequately convey or do proper justice … warmest, most gracious hugs to you! ~ Richard

Aw, you're welcome.
There is an overwhelming sense of longing here hovering like music above the sadness... How you create a whole novel of life and love in three lines... beautifully done!

It just came to me one night...I couldn't write it down fast enough. Thank you for the compliment, .. read more
It is as if love that bloomed in other season is leaving you in this. Like the nightingale's song ends in this location to go to the next. It is quite melancholy a feeling.

You are welcome Kelly.
So pretty.

What will the nightingale sing.. what song, I wonder resides in its heart.

Aw, my pleasure. You too!
So poignant! The nightingale sings so sweetly when love fills our hearts and our lives.

And the outstretched wings are like a plaintive cry for love's return....

Lovely.

No, I've never heard one live. Will check that out!!
as a nightingale leaves sadness side

a clutch of pain brought on by tear’s tide

sorrow sleeps deep into me

the fruits of the morrow i will never see.

The muse leaving us in want, maybe playing their tune in our head wishing for things to mature with summer and foliage.
A lovely poem Kelly, making me rest in the waves of melancholy.
