Days of Winter

Days of Winter

A Poem by Kelly Scheppers

Days of Winter

It was the short days of winter

that proceeded to fade her colors,

where the precipice of night

               exacerbated

the relativity of need.

Not enough sun, will remove anything lovely and picturesque from the frame of a love waiting just around the corner. It will be there... soon.. loved it!! Your ability to say so much in so many levels is just amazing!!

Kelly, Winter's short days and long nights exacerbate seasonal affective disorder symptoms; this can lead to a precipitous drop in conscious good thoughts and deeds. It can also distort feeling alone, which can be at its darkest when the skies are. Throw in some cold weather (at least HERE) and the die is completely cast. BTW, it's going down to 16 tonite, almost APRIL. A lovely piece here, Kelly. take care...dan

i love how you and John are writing these poems, across the miles, across the span of emotion, as she waits for her lover...

can't wait for the next part...where autumn will find her...in his arms, or feeling the cool breeze of loneliness too.

I have heard where you go in the coldness of night where all the colors of the storm have folded into a wrinkle.

Once again blooming with a master's stroke of genius.

Love,

...a most poignant review, my friend, thank you!
what a jewel! wow! wow! and wowzy wow! ;) just the first line .. the short days of winter .. when ones perception is most likely the long long long ones ... but these are short . it didnt take long to fade her colors .. so your poem begins to dismantle me ... but the night .. oh the damn night falls .. as it surely does .. crushing but enunciating my heart desire .. good golly miss molly .. who can stand and deliver .. i think this is very very well expressed .. wow!

ps .. that pic is also a keeper in my opinion .. perfect
Loneliness and the cold....they tend to go together, don't they? At night, being alone seems far worse than it does during the day. You still have that knack for saying so much in just a few lies, Kelly. Wonderful work. Lydi**

Wow this has a brevity and a poignancy that spills sensuality across the page of winter's imminent departure Kelly.
