Days of Winter

Days of Winter

A Poem by Kelly Scheppers

Days of Winter

It was the short days of winter

that proceeded to fade her colors,

where the precipice of night

               exacerbated

the relativity of need.

wonderful !! Great command of words. Poems are not made better by an abundance of words. There is beauty to be found in short and direct poetry. thanks !!!

You know this left me wanting more...yet I liked the shortness and brevity in the lines...and the usage of language adds to the work...the picture gives us a bit more into the wholeness..once you finish and bring this altogether...good to read this --- Kelly...

I feel very blessed, Jamestown...and thankful for such reviews!
So much expression in only a few words......the climate change of love may sometimes even post-pone spring and try and squeeze as much winter coldness out of a thawing heart........

I loved your analogy of a "thawing heart"...thank you for your perspective!
Long winter nights leave us cold and lonely. Your ability to capture love's longing is profound, as is your ability to garner such beautiful words from a picture - which you then use to construct your own art. Wonderful!

Im with Jacob on this - both you and Johns poems are so romantic Kelly - Im literally leaping from one to the other with sigh after sigh and my heart gets warmer and my soul lighter with each leap.
This one is sooo cleverly done. I am in awe.
