I couldn't help but think of two lovers so enraptured with love making that they knocked the little record player off the night stand,
And, in theory, that kind of sounds like what happened.....
Lost and broken now are the missing sounds of love lost and broken,
Excellent poetry.

OH my!!! The needle skips across the vinyl now.....that says it all. Bittersweet reflection. So sensual. The "bleeding verse" of the Stones inspired many a passionate night back then....and still inspires poetry. Wonderful work, Kelly. Lydi**

across the vinyl now" such a chuckle i am having .. so thanks!!

what a fun sensuous glissando .. my attention you corralled .. i am stomping my hooves in the dust and snorting emphatically :))

...thank you Sir E! I'm thrilled I corralled you! ; )
Hi Kelly. Loved the images you have portrayed in this poem. I can feel the emotion at love lost . . . sadness, haunted by a theme and remembrances. Loved it, alf
It is interesting the associations we make, even after many years to the music of our youth. I liked Wild Horses, but I think from around that time Sympathy for the Devil is my favorite.
A well-written poem, as always Kelly.

Nothing sounds worse than that 'sceeerchh' as the needle finds a groove that wasnt there at the outset. A great metaphorical poem Kelly. Nothing says freedom like the dust raised by a herd of wild equine spirits. Theres only one of you Kelly.

Kelly, I love that song too, and I really like the horse metaphor for the "you" in the story. You have a unique style to your writing at times, and this one personifies that style. Breezy, running wild and free...like horses' manes in the soft wind. A delightful write that is going straight into my library. take care...dan
