Wild Horses

Wild Horses

A Poem by Kelly Scheppers
"

...inspired by my favorite Stones song

"

Wild Horses

It was our song,

The idiosyncratic sound

of jagger,

the virtual stampede upon my heart

of wild horses

you hummed it

Night and day,

Strummed it upon your air guitar

as I rode your body

with the gesticulation of hips,

to thunderous rifts

of weeping guitars

and bleeding verse.

you broke my stride

the willingness of my gait,

allowing me to slip through your hands

the needle skips

across the vinyl now,

a sweeping exit.

I really like this one! The relation of the song and feelings for someone are very relatable to me. But in keeping with the tone of the poem throughout "the needle skips". Loss..Very cool

Yes ma'am it was my pleasure.
Very photogenic scene I seen it all before in the teen years with the girl next store and the love songs I tried to steal her heart away with on the transistor Radio.

A beautiful song - a beautiful poem filled with passion - and so elegantly written. Another masterpiece by you.

I ride along in metaphor, hear an old tune in my mind, the stampede hurls forward leading me into the poetic mind.

Love,

Ah, Kelly, thank you precious, truly ♥
Well I may never have the opportunity to own a vinyl here!! But mehh.. who knows someday I'll get to know what the real fuss is about!!

This is loaded with nostalgia and yearning for the moments which get etched in our mind merely because there was that song to fit the occasion. I relate to this. The ending hits home; great imagery throughout.

Those songs can stick in our minds...long after they are gone. The image I get from breaking your stride, the willingness of your gait...strikes me. Some Times we walk right into the pain. As always, beautiful.
