The Internet: A Poem

The Internet: A Poem

A Poem by Tay

She opened up the blackhole into the unknown

Through a white window

See could watch the world unfold

All around the world

People

People watching flickering blackholes

Scrolling through the food of their existence

The feeding

The feeds

Pixellated love

Hugs surrounding nations

This was a life

Perhaps

Not real life

Who even cares about that

Through the blackhole

Watching

Waiting

Responding

Are we as interesting as we appear

Are we as boring as we appear

Do we even care about ourselves

As much as these specks of dust

In a universe of infinite knowledge

Infinite life

Will it ever die

Do we hope not

The existential questions

Of 3am

As we scroll through existence

Like a life flashing before our eyes

A life that isn't ours

But we know it so well

As we watch it through the blackhole

If only we could fall through

Land in the land we lust after

Like a Phoenix rising from the ashes

But instead we sit

Sit and watch through the blackhole

Until it's time for bed
