Lemmings..

Lemmings..

A Poem by Mulligitawny

A cold shoulder in sheeps clothing that gives a kiss with no spark
With dead eyes that breathe fire and a bite with no bark.
Grasping at my sanity and weathering my soul
He leaves me a beggar with a penniless bowl.

He's nothing but my everything; a frozen time-frame of innocence
The brightness that lights a dark existence
But his words fall to the floor with empty words of false sorrow
Phantom promises and clouded visions of a better tomorrow

And we both know it's just a ballad of our naive lust
That misled us to believe love is something we could trust.

THE BEGINNING SETS THIS UP...AS YOU READ DOWN THE LINE OF THIS VERSE...AND YET THE EFFECT GETS INTO THE STORY IN THE LAST 6 LINES...YOU GIVE US ALL THIS IS WORTH IN THOSE LINES:

He's nothing but my everything; a frozen time-frame of innocence
The brightness that lights a dark existence
But his words fall to the floor with empty words of false sorrow
Phantom promises and clouded visions of a better tomorrow

And we both know it's just a ballad of our naive lust
That misled us to believe love is something we could trust.

SEEMS HERE YOU ARE BOTH IN IT FOR OTHERS THINGS OTHER THAN LOVE...THAT'S CLEARLY STATED IN THE LAST 2 LINES OF THIS NARRATIVE...
