The Skyline

The Skyline

A Poem by Muhammed Patel

As I look over the skyline and see the hundreds of skyscrapers scraping the sky, shooting upwards supposedly infinitely and then stopping; I realize how distinctly different they each are. Each with their own unique frame and design; some modern, some prehistoric; some beautiful, some dastardly. Their purposes in this city, this life, are all different. They each are meant for something. The thing is, their fate, whether they are laid to waste and demolished from their very foundations; or whether they survive and grow taller, stronger, more powerful and dominating; all depends on what goes on within them.
