My Ugly Habit

A dangerous addiction

Strummed across my skin

A welcoming sting

Dragged and wiped clean

Can you feel it?

 

That hideous attraction

 

I hold on to the pretend because,

You’re the part of me….

The part that I don’t want to see

Please tell me you’ll stay

 

I can’t do this anymore

 

Let me fall at your feet

Let me hide when you’re looking

I want to believe it

You know how hard I try

 

Tell me it’s going to be alright

 

You caught my fall

Hollowed out the toxic

A punctured habit

I crave the hurt

 

…And I need you, in the worst way
