Compass

Cuddling, at its finest.

Here, the sound of melting thoughts

chime words warmer than honey

and,

sweet nothings pour out of lips,

that are anything but empty.

Tangled knees wrap around

the wrinkles of a cottonwood blanket;

continents of skin lie underneath,

joining together like Pangea,

they are one,

Two lovers wanderlust

for skin left dusty and dry;

Sinking into each other's compass,

no land was left unexplored.

Your little poem packs a powerful punch! Lovely capture of an exquisite (I'm sure) moment it time... 'joining together like Pangea/they are one' is brilliant... as is 'Sinking into each other's compass...' Altogether it is both innocent and sneakily bawdy (the last line was telling). Excellent work, Ally! Seems spending a little time away from the WC is doing wonders for you all around... ;)
