Green Supernova (Infinite)

Green Supernova (Infinite)

A Poem by Ally Monique
"

You are indubitably all seasons of the universe, whether that be the hot December of Venus, or the ague August of Neptune.

"
In the dead of space,
silence gathers
like fingers on skin;
guiding me towards
distant, green withering lanterns.

Promising me safe travels,
nomadic debris as thin as plastic
carry me to where you are,
and where you are,
sounds like the chiming strings
of a waltzing October Cello.

Hesitant, I saunter,
into a Supernova of feeling;
Never had I gambled
to make love to its beauty
until you gave mouth
to this sleepless reticence.

Here, I am
short of breath,
but full of life,
In your Green Supernova.

I was so glad to find a new one of yours, Ally... I refilled my coffee, sat down to read, and BAM! ... I was hit in the head by your 'Green Supernova!' What a beautifully cosmic event you've orchestrated--I could pick out any line and say something good about it, but "... and where you are/sounds like the chiming strings/of a waltzing October Cello" just makes me smile, sit back, and enjoy the show. This piece is gentle in tone and full of romantic metaphor. I loved spending some time in your universe. Excellent writing!

This is one of your better poems in my honest opinion. It seems something has gotten you very motivated. I love the relation of love to space as they are both vast, powerful, and even though they are so close they are so unknown. You very clearly displayed how love could make one feel as though everything is calm and slowed down with your words of silence and the cello. Beautiful piece

Hypnotic, romantic, and visually rich...I could almost imagine myself floating through cosmos as I read this, taking in the supernovas and growing stars...your metaphors linking the stars with a lover are gripping and unique...the second-to-last stanza I especially loved...well done Ally :)

You're very welcome :)
Gosh Ally....

:-)

What to say. Read JK's review and echo his feelings.
You've created a beauty.

"Waltzing October Cello", it's perfect.

This has a beautiful romantic feel about it, and a subtle hint of naive and shy that makes it so endearing and charming.

Enjoyed every moment waltzing with your poem... :-)
