judging "HE"

judging "HE"

A Poem by olwethuthando

I watch you judge me everyday.
Judging every guy I associate myself with.
Telling me this one isn't right for you,
Or this one isn't good looking enough,
Or that one is too skinny and that one is too dark for you.

Eventually I'd let him go...
Because you disapproved of him,
Even though my intuition wouldn't let me rest well.

It was that night when another "he" approached me.
I liked him!
He was what my eyes and inner being called perfection.
Yet...you disapproved...AGAIN

I told myself
That, I'm going to stand like a man who can't be moved for this "he"!
Your empty brutal words didn't matter anymore.
For if I let them matter like before,
I'd end up a miserable ice soul-being.
Nevertheless, it isn't our life but mine alone.

It is time I started living...
For me.
Friends???! Yes.
But get me wrong will you not...even then, we could never have the same taste in "he".
