What If...

What If...

A Poem by Serendipity
"

I knew that yesterday was our last time...

"

What if I could turn back time…
I’d go back to yesterday and try harder.
What if I knew that yesterday was our last time…
I’d kiss you passionately and never let go.
What if my kiss wasn’t enough…
I’d tell you I love you totally and completely.
What if I love you needed more…
Then I’d give you my heart, body and soul.
What if those were all broken pieces…
I’d ask you to accept me as I am.
What if you accept me…
Then I’d promise to treasure you every single day.
What if my promise required commitment…
I’d say my heart is in your hand, I have nothing more.

That's a question I ask myself all the time. Indeed, "what if" we could back up just a little and do things different?---I'd be spinning my wheels in reverse right now. Very poignant and poetic, Serendipity.

Oh sweetie....my heart aches and aches when I read this. I feel like I've been sucker-punched. Such pain, such longing, such wishing to go back. I'm sorry for whatever led to this write, but I do hope time will heal your wounds. Thank you for sharing your words in this time of need. :)
