Searching For His Love

Searching For His Love

A Poem by Serendipity
"

Hes traveled the world ... Searching for the one ... One with boundless beauty

"

He’s been riding eternally

It seems for decades

Searching for his happiness

Searching for his love

He knows one day

He will find her

The one who will

Make him feel love

Valentine, his faithful companion

His horse, his only

Friend on this venture

Riding with him endlessly

Through the dark mountains

Into the deep forest

Crossing long, wide rivers

Into cold, freezing currents

She is out there

He can feel her

Her hopes and dreams

Her strength and courage

He’s traveled the world

Started at one end

To the other end

He doesn’t give up

The night is falling

As he crosses through

A snow banked field

Its time to rest

She is full of

Warmth, grace, passion, love

One with boundless beauty

Both inside and out

He can’t go on

Not tonight, its dark

Tomorrow will be a

New day, new start

He looks over the

Endless horizon looking for

A place to stop

For the cold night

He’s looking for perfection

One who’s beyond limits

She’s wonderful and amazing

And will complete him

The night comes, goes

Once again preparing Valentine

For another day riding

Searching for the one

He doesn’t know her

She doesn’t know him

Yet there is unexplained

Love for one another

Her purpose is to

To fulfill a place

No one else can

To warm his heart

He can feel her

Closer with each day

Today is the day

He will find love

Today he will find

The beautiful lady who

Already treasures his heart

Safely within her heart

I love that this poem tells a story! Almost an epic, it seems as if his journey has been so long, and he finally be rewarded, as will she.
I too can hear the gallopong of the horse, Valentine, a perfect name for the companion who travels with him.
If you put together every first sentence in each stanza, they almost make another story.
Very interesting.
A story within a story within a poem within true love.

I like the very encouraging and uplifting ending:

Today is the day
He will find love

(I'm sitting here reeling over the great imagination that is unending, in which you beautiful illustrate what is in your heart. )

-Then today is the day.
Indeed.

Very beautiful piece. And romantic too.
I loved the story here.

Throws up very vivid images.
Nice description as well.

The journey one undertakes to find true love may not always be easy to go through but the desire to find that special person makes us go on, irrespective of anything.

Incidentally, I was listening to 'I want to spend my lifetime loving you' (Marc Anthony) sometime back. This poem brought back that mood.

Wow! I guess this is dedicated to a certain Cowboy around your neck of the woods Serendipity? It is a fine write although the text was difficult to read, I was determined to see where Valentine took him, life is a journey by horse or otherwise, we all have to get around, as the beach boys would say. A hauntingly romantic journey this was, smiling at you, Tai

A beautifully written expression of the quest the heart engages, endeavoring to find that one true love.

Beautiful...

Hoping to find that greater experience in love and companionship...it draws the sojourner on to ever more distant places...empty though they may be.

Nice feel to your poem...sensitivity to all the mysteries of the searching heart.

Excellent...!

That search for purpose, for love, for the beauty that we know we will find with that one who is out there, just waiting for us. Some of us are fortunate to have found that match, and others keep on with a purpose in mind, and they will succeed, some day. I love this poem, it was truly thought provoking.

Love,

I can hear the hooves churning the ground in an endless gallop as he makes his way to her! I am so glad I read this it makes my search seem so valid and worthwhile...a quest of immediate and personal value...thank you for articulating what I could not seem to, my winged angel.
