Lies

A lie ... Every word you ever said ... All lies, always lies.

On this rainy day

I’m reminded of us

An us that never was

An us that will never be

 

I don’t get it

Help me understand

Why the lies

Why break my heart

 

There was no goodbye

It was hard to tell you

You said you’d never leave me

I loved you from day one

 

How can one person

This aching feeling within

Cause so much pain

I didn’t know how to love 

 

You told me

I love you

You swore

My heart and soul

 

I close my eyes

We were always meant

I hear your words

To be together

 

You will always be

This deep love

In my heart

It scares me

 

You said I was special

You were real

My heart belongs to you

I love you … always will

 

I am crying for you

Can’t change what happened

Do you even care

Can keep it from happening again

 

You are a coward

That’s all you’ll ever be

You are a liar

I was just another

 

I will go now

With my tears

With my pain

Broken once again
