Heart of StoneA Poem by SerendipityShe loved a man without a heart ... Living in a state of sorrowI saw her walking In a silent state They say she walks in mourning Everyday waiting She loved a man without a heart One who would not love She gave him her heart and in return Got a heart of stone She placed the heart on her chest Awaiting for the day When he would come back to her And give her his true heart It has been a decade or so No one really knows She never speaks, never smiles She simply walks alone The other day I followed her To the cemetery she went I saw tears in her eyes As she cried in pain I wish I could help her Heal the pain inside But how can one help heal Someone without a heart I understand her agony I understand her emptiness I understand her silent state Because she is me The girl who is numb No emotions, broken love Living in a state of sorrow Holding onto a heart of stone December 3, 2007
