When We Kiss

When We Kiss

A Poem by Serendipity
"

When we kiss I can hear your thoughts so I would rather we didnt.

"

We have been together for nine years.

Ups and downs, tears and laughter.

For too many years, I have carried on.

It is now time for me to move on.

You ask me for a kiss and I made a mistake.

Because when we kiss, I can hear your thoughts.

I love you, please don’t leave me.

I need you to survive, without you I will die.

So as I push you away, I shake my head.

I need to remove your words from my mind.

“One more kiss please, before you leave me.

For old times sake, just a kiss to say goodbye.”

I don’t want to hear your thoughts.

They hurt so I would rather we didn’t.

Its too late for us now, time has changed.

Life will never be the same, no more kisses.

Goodbye.

I really like the way you show in this poem that a kiss is so much more than simply that. Kisses can be the eyes that see into feelings - and sometimes those are feeling we don't want to see. Very nice job! :). God bless.
