I've Never Seen An Angel CryA Poem by SerendipityHow could I not notice her ... The angel in the crowded room? How could I not notice her, The angel in the crowded room? She stood out against the rest, With beautiful tan skin that glowed. I walked towards her, A smile on my face. She was standing alone, Deep in thought. I approached her, "Hello". I extend my hand. She looks at me; I've interrupted her. She offers a weak smile; With her perfect crimson lips. I look into her eyes; Eyes that change from hazel to grey. I’ve heard a saying "The eyes are the door to the heart". Her eyes exude sadness. Such beauty; yet such sadness. She extends her hand, A fragile handshake. She seems lost; Lost in a world of pain. What pain, I wonder, Is in her heart. Maybe the pain of a broken heart. Maybe the pain of a lost soul. As I walk away, A single tear down her cheek. Her soul screams, her heart cries. I’ve never seen an angel cry. September 30, 2007
