Sleep InspiredA Poem by Atsa Biyaazh
Everyday brings struggle, strife, pain
a smile disguises the war inside my brain a war that seems to cease fire once I lay my head, I hear the choir of promising dreams and sweet desires the freedom that is raped in reality is alive and undisturbed in my sleep freedom that knows no frown which is a man made reaction towards a society that tries to keep us down, nah... My dreams can't be touched, can't be stolen the word "stolen" was meant for material objects, possessions but my dreams it can never affect My guaranteed getaway happens when I'm motionless But once day breaks and the light warms my eyes the first bullet is heard and I hear nothing but lies Reality once again has the spotlight and I'm forced to make sure it doesn't lose it's shine Moments define it's presence while my heart, soul, dreams define Life's essence.... © 2013 Atsa BiyaazhFeatured Review
