PyreA Poem by Ink SeductressMy ongoing ramblings..PYRE
The wretched smell of burning flesh invades my nose, I gag and swallow, my revolt about to reach it's extent, Smoke rises around me creating a thick fog, and for some reason I'm impelled to look down at my arm. Flesh is peeling away, burning and sizzling, I scream and attempt to pull the dead flesh free, I rip pieces from my face, neck and chest, shedding bloody tears, as I cry out, "No, I'm not dead yet!" Or am I? Am I merely a shell of what i once used to be? Or the last fragment of my life, my soul, my identity? I fall to my knees every part of me ablaze, As flesh leaves bone, and bone turns to ash, one last tear descends-- © 2014 Ink SeductressAuthor's Note
