Chapter 4~Animal GhostsA Chapter by MsMermaidI've had experiences with more than just people ghosts.
There were no burglaries in my new home, and while I wasn't aware of any human ghosts, I did begin to experience animal ghosts.
One night I felt a cat jump up on my bed and lay down next to my legs and start purring. I wondered how my little girl's cat got left in the house and reached down to pet it. To my surprise, there was nothing there, yet I could still hear it purring and feel it leaning against my legs. On another occasion I was driving home from visiting my sister who had moved from the city to the country. As I rolled up to a boulevard stop before getting onto the main highway to go home a deer jumped across the hood of my car and then vanished into thin air! I was stunned and then realized that it must have been killed at that very corner. A few years later I was rolling up to a red light just on the outskirts of town when a deer jumped across the hood of my car, scraping it's hoof on my car and then ran off down the road. I was glad the light hadn't been green or I might have killed the poor thing. I had actually hit a deer that tried to run across the road in front of my car when I was driving at night in the country. It rolled up onto the hood of my car towards my windshield and I envisioned it crashing through the glass and killing me, but instead it rolled of my car. I didn't see whether it ran off or whether I'd killed it. I was really traumatized by this and thought the worst had probably happened. I wrote a song about it that is sung to the tune of "Doe, a Deer" and goes like this: Doe, a deer, a female deer Ran itself into my car Crushed my grill, headlight and hood Minor damages so far But the damage to the deer Ir-repairable I fear Why oh why did she decide To commit this suicide? Oh, no, no.... Why did she run into my car? © 2011 MsMermaid |
