Just Because

Just Because

Just Because

Ain't love grand?
Some people say it's
"Mighty like a rose".
And I've heard tell
Love casts a spell
On unsuspecting foes.

With an "ooh eee, ooh ahh ahh"
Most anyone can be mine.
And don't forget
The sure-fire hit,
Love Potion Number Nine.

Some say love's sappy
And makes them happy.
And some say sex is love.
Another asserts love only hurts.
Yet it comes from God above?

What is this thing that we call "love"?
It's defined so many ways.
True love is this... true love is that...
In every well turned phrase.

I've heard one definition I like,
So I think I'll pass it on here.
It's not "tough love"
But it's tough to do,
'Cause you have to get over your fear.

It's to know someone with all their faults
And all their hidden flaws
And yet fully accept them just as they are
Truly love them... just because.

Beautiful, and thought provoking, but the ending is really dead on. Very nice work!
