TemptationA Poem by MsMermaidA Public Domain Photo used in a poetry challenge.Temptation "Why doest thou bother thy pretty head?" Said he, "Just count on me instead. Bring thy sisters Come play with me And I'll take care of them and thee. Yes, I'll take care of all three." "Good sir, why would you offer this?" Said she, with pouty lips to kiss. "The very thought could bring such bliss, But sir, I feel there's something amiss. Good sir, what could it be?" "Amiss? Sweet lass, don't trouble thy mind. Come play, and leave all doubts behind. There's nothing here but pleasure to find. For me and all of thee." So Peace and Love and Common Sense Went with the Devil behind his fence, And now the world pays recompense For having lost all three!
