Better In Due Time

Eventually it will heal the wounds.

An ever lasting ache lessens

The minutes help erase it away

I'm going to be okay

Even though it never felt possible

 

I'm going to stand strong

Push the despair away

Because I know it doesn't belong

The reasons for it, fade every day

 

I'm going to be fine

Better in due time

No more sorrow inside

No more trials today

 

Soon the pain will heal

The numbness in the past

I trust in the process

Soon joy will be accessed

 

I'm not going to keep it in

I'm going to be fine

Better in due time

Going to be myself again

 

And I never really needed you

I am going to live like I should

I won't linger in a depression

Because of love's repression

 

Thought I couldn't do it

A damaged heart holding me down

But I'm going to be better

Better in due time.

 

I deserve to smile

Finally live my life

So I'm going to let it all go

Let my spirits soar

 

The minutes will erase you

Days will bring hope anew

This is good because although the overall message is strong it seems like the voice wavers between starting to feel better and then feeling vulnerable again. Which is what any one in this posistion would feel.

Like the other poem I have reviewed it is very relatable.
