A boy and a girlA Poem by Ms.RodgersShe's a girl, and that's it He's a boy, and a little more She wants to be good He is She tries, but sometimes, it seems too much He succeeds with what he does She wants to be good enough He thinks she is It's a surprising situation When a boy as perfect as him Thinks a girl as flawed as her Is worth a lot more The credit isn't properly given Not to him, and not to her He's good and smart She's got a kind heart It's obvious that she sees The good in him, what he tries to be It's obvious he loves her The flaws inside, the imperfections she tries to hide They're not perfect They're not a couple It's exactly what I'd call love It's friendship, it's trust On the days when her hair frizzes out And everything seems to fall down He picks her up And brushes her off, wiping away her frown She saves him from the darkness Picks him up, and makes him smile She takes away the bad for a moment Makes him feel good inside She was once a girl Filled with optimistic wonder He was once a boy Heart whole, filled with innocence Things change, but it's still there Only tarnished with the age Slowly added on To each of their brains She still believes in magic But not love at first sight He still sees the good in the world Even in the darkest of nights She still wants to be good He still wants to succeed And someday, they'll do it They'll find their dreams Together, they know The world's upside down But it's okay It's easier to see things that way She laughs, and it fills a room with light He smiles, and she's never seen anything so bright It's that spark in his eyes It's how she doesn't bother to lie Her guard is let down Whenever he's around He's got a crack in his amour For the girl Could it be that they were under the impression life was perfect? No one will ever know. It's simple to say Perfect is how it became
