Be my better halfA Story by Ms.Rodgers She wasn’t pretty, by any means. It wasn’t that she was ugly per say, she was just average. Dark hair, dark skin and dark eyes. Nothing was exciting about her, and nothing was special. She was normal. She had the self conscious problems like every other girl, but she was average. She was considered smart, but she didn’t think so. Her voice had been describe as similar to honey, but she just heard high pitched chirping. She had been called beautiful, but she didn’t see it. She had been called funny, but she didn’t understand. She had been called artistic, but she just felt that she was honest. Many people called her kind, she was just really good at keeping her mouth shut. She was overall a good person, you could say. She had one attribute that she loved about herself, and it was her ability to tell stories. She could spin a thread of silver words in the midnight air and feel beautiful. She didn’t hate herself, not more than anyone else hates themselves. She didn’t exactly love herself, she was just okay. Sometimes, she felt unpretty. He was gorgeous, but that wasn’t what made him special. It wasn’t his swirling, storm cloud eyes. It wasn’t that beautiful half smile that forms butterflies in the bellies of many that made him special. He was smart, he was kind and he was good. He saw things a little bit foggy. He didn’t see himself as good enough. He was wrong. He was strong. He’d been through much too much for someone his age. He had a brave face like no one else. He smiled, and he tried to be strong. He’d been hurt, and that wasn’t okay just because he didn’t deserve it. He had trust issues, but that was understandable. He was smart, by all standards. And when he smiled, a room would light up. His voice was smooth like chocolate. He was good with words, but admission of that would come rarely. He was poetic, without trying. He dreams of making a difference. He’s a little bit of a hopeless romantic, he’d rather be shot than admit to it. He was just so good, and he tried so hard. He was perfect when he tried. Actually, he was pretty perfect without trying. She couldn’t say if he hated himself, but she prays to god that he’ll see what she sees.
