La Luna

La Luna

A Poem by AL

"

La Luna, opal of the night, what secrets

do you possess, what are your delights?

Perched above us all, to you we must

seem so very small.

Sparkling tiara frames your face, tiny

lights in space

I look up at your glowing beam,

wondering if you could, what would you

dream.

Sometimes looking on us with full view,

sometimes hiding parts of you.

Ageless and ancient all in one, do you

look forward to the setting sun?

Do you ever tire as I do? Do new evenings

bring dread or are you renewed?

So many eras have come and gone, the

follies of man and their wrongs.

.

Countless lost and lonely souls begin and

end

How many Luna, thought you their only friend?

So much blame you have received from failed

crops to evil deeds.

My friend I am but a naive being, I simply

enjoy the beauty you bring.

Ah, my dear fried, this idiot finally realized who you are. Your poem is exceptional. Just for kicks try doing it with fewer words. I am out of town and one my in-laws ancient crater of a computer...ugh! Love you deary.
