A Poem by Mrudula Rani

Your apotheosis of orb of night
hast me in anxious anticipation.
For the recur of astral satellite,
reckful of its lustrous amplification,
Its waxing and waning phenomenon.
Each lunation deeds a full moon so divine,
that vies with your smile, fitly a perfection.
Which begets image that's a delight of mine.

as I was first responding to this writing Mrudula it made me write a poem so I'm gonna go work on it now and post it as "Mrudulas Moon" :) To compare the smile of someone to the gaze of the moon is just to delicious a concept for to me to ignore:)

Moonlight and romance walk hand in hand together Mrudula. That wonderful orb casts its magic on us all. Nothing like the light of the silvery moon to influence us in art, music, writing and of course love. So happy where your fine words took me. All good wishes dear poet.

What a wonderful intuition and comprehension you shared, dear Chri. Thank you.
Why does the moon magnetically bring us together and take us on a journey.
It seems so insignificant, yet its presence has so many effects on so many people.
Two people in the moonlight, it can only be love.

Sadly that is the price we pay for living in a metropolis!
A poem that shouts love as did the poets of yesteryear as far back as Shakespeare himself.

Thank you for sharing a lovely thought.
This makes me think of a Shakespearean comparison. Like: "shall I compare thee to a summer's day." The moon in all of its glory rises over and over, but never becomes something to grow bored of or look past. It presents a new wonder with each rise.

And then, there's the lover who prompts a similar, and perhaps my visceral response. The smile of a dearly loved one offers its own balm and invigoration. The heart overflowing with feeling. It's a lovely idea, Mrudula. Assuming I haven't just imagined my own poem in reading yours. The moon is a beautiful sight, but there are other distractions that can pull the eye closer to ground.

Nice to see a new poem from you. Hope life is good for you there.

Astronomy and romance hand in hand and soul in soul. You take us up to the sky of a full moon and down to a fitting perfection. Magical.
