Hast no zeal to footslog Mount Everest,
Nor aim to lollop off plane in harness.
Bid to emboss iris on twill in earnest,
Render essence to reindeer on canvas,
Enlace lengthy garland of jasmines seamless,
Author an ode for lunar 's delphic dance,
Tail sparrow to its ensconce for answers,
Do none such... as lost raptly in your glance.
What a lovely way to describe being captivated by the power of someone’s gaze. As though the gaze is the only thing for miles with power at all.
I love the way you take us through different scenarios and senses to make the dilemma (a wonderful dilemma!) clear. The chemistry of true love weaves through the lace of your words. Delicate at points, but also firm and resolute. Passionate.
Lovely to read a new poem from you, Mrudula. I admire your forays into love poetry. There is always that nice balance of passion and pure adoration.

I dont know if I'd pass up Everest. I read your words that cascade down to the conclusion and think that many would be jealous that those words weren't for them. I guess you're right in your suggestion that being lost in the eye of another's storm is worth almost anything. Lovely work.

so I immediately had to listen to Debussy and his rendition of the Delphic column and clair de lune came on right after which somehow seems to fit this poetry so now I'm rereading these lines listening to Debussy and as I crawl down them again LOL (I used to jump out of planes) the moment of the cast clutches in your view is so eloquently depicted in such sort order as I feel the lines unravel to a resplendance in your glance this is beautiful Mrudula

Mrudula, that man of yours dear friend, has really got you spell bound. You have eyes only for him, not to have your attention diverted to other pursuits :) I have to say I am a wee bit envious. No I have to say I am very envious. Lovely poem which tells us much about you.

Thank you my dear poet, your kind sweet reviews are a delight Chris. Thank you very much.
Whether the glance of a loved one of the glance of nature this poem appears to dismiss the thrill seeking, the need to push boundaries or recreate in favour of the simple that can be found right in front of us as we look.

Thank you John, for your lovely comments, always appreciate your visit.
Why do you need to climb Everest, jump out a plane.
The real challenges are on your doorstep. You pass them every day without noticing their beauty.
Nature has all the answers, unfortunately we never ask her till it's too late.
