A Poem by Mrudula Rani
"

Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated - Confucius

"
Life educes amaranthine telenovela,
codex and cast in stalemate formula...
Ferine mixture of baroque affinities, rill of genitures and adieus.
Stories of many entwined to enlace a recherche weft of revue;
Pillions hies of wyrd, ricochet truth
at a fortuitous hour riving attritions of fidelity.

Ergo the ikon in all emanates.

Litany, daresaid modus of recountal.
Then librettist's zeal thwarts fair... fitfully plot snags,
Natheless warrigal, divine implications impel the fete!
Yet hots elect no spectators intermittently
When riotious emotions run heathen, many peripetia wasted in trivia; vapid duologue.
and the ineludible flux of pards through egresses.
Myrid arrys worthy of amiss , given their details of atavistic contortions
Contention of eclat, assay of certitude, unsung ego.

Ergo the ikon in all emanates.

Assiduous kiss e'er ameliorates purport,
Scoff for predilection to flurish in the onliest hour of heart.
Aproviso for logy soul to sculpt dreams of desire.
All exists aren't panoply for dalliance;
Untold not ever earn to net the light of day.
Curious handful do commit their lives to televisual; inane reality show.

Ergo the ikon in all emanates!

please give me your address so i know where to mail the part of my soul that just slid out of my chest and curled into a ball next to my keyboard. It no longer wishes to be inside me and is screaming your name rather intently. I have never witnessed anyone who uses language like you do and now you are transitioning from write to sketch to animate. I have a friend that used to restore ikons for the local byzantine churches here in Pittsburgh at my store years ago when it first opened Im thinking perhaps I should commission him to create one for me of you as you are fastly becoming the patron saint of language to me

This poem was a challenge, but I feel like that's part of the message. Perhaps the idea that we complicate our lives by focusing on the wrong things or having misplaced expectations. I suppose that Homo sapiens have always been prone to overthinking the trivial and underestimating the power of true understanding. Happiness (true happiness) seldom springs from the ground of a staged reality. I'm working these ideas out as I go.

I always appreciate the way your poetry requires thought. It is easy to read a poem, form an idea, and then voice the immediate. But, when encountering new words or ideas, there is the necessity to slow down and absorb the ideas one by one. I had to work to decode this poem, but in the end, I feel that one's life philosophy is worth the effort of decoding.

Always a hopeful and deep message in your poems, Mrudula.
